A Few Things That Help To Improve Your Life
At first, I was scared that having fibromyalgia was something that I had to suffer from for the rest of my life. I felt like I couldn't do anything about it and was powerless. As time passed by I realized that wasn't the case at all. I found ways to help minimize the symptoms I was experiencing. Just hearing that I had fibromyalgia left me feeling confused, scared, and helpless. It was like my body was telling me that something was wrong with me, but I couldn't quite put my finger on it. Alhamdulillah I was finally able to get answers as to why I was feeling this way.
Alhamdulillah my faith in Allah kept me strong and hopeful. Allah says, what means, “Allah doesn’t burden a soul greater than it can bear”(Surah Al Baqarah 2:286). Knowing and understanding this verse helped tremendously when I would feel down. I used to think having fibro was too much for me to bear, but now I know if I have it I must be able to bear it. Allah is truly Merciful and Just. We must believe that Allah knows what’s best for us and will not afflict us with more than we can withstand. Allah says, what means, “whosoever puts his trust in Allah, then He will suffice him. Verily, Allah will accomplish his purpose. Indeed Allah has set a measure for all things.(Surah At Talaq 65:3)
I began to research what I could do to help me combat this diagnosis. From my research, I learned there are many things that you can do to help with fibromyalgia, and you don't have to suffer in silence. Here are four ways to help improve your quality of life with fibromyalgia:
1. Get enough sleep: Getting enough sleep is an important factor in managing fibromyalgia. Too little sleep can lead to fatigue, decreased energy, and a lack of focus. You need to get at least eight hours of sleep at night to avoid experiencing these negative effects.
2. Exercise: Exercising can help improve your overall health and improve your quality of life with fibromyalgia. Exercise can help reduce the symptoms of fibromyalgia, improve your mood, and increase your overall physical activity.
3. Drink plenty of fluids: Drinking plenty of fluids to help keep you hydrated and improve your quality of life with fibromyalgia. Water is the best drink for managing fibromyalgia because it helps to replace fluids lost through sweat and digestion.
4. Eat a nutritious and balanced meal every day: Eating a nutritious and balanced meal every day to help improve your overall health and quality of life with fibromyalgia. Eating a balanced and nutritious meal can help reduce the symptoms of fibromyalgia, improve your mood, and increase your overall physical activity.
Fibromyalgia is also managed with medication: pain meds, muscle relaxants, anti depressants, sleeping pills, anticonvulsant medicine, antipsychotic meds. All of those medications are pharmaceutical pills but there are natural things you can do also to relieve the pain from fibromyalgia. Some people find relief in acupuncture, hydrotherapy, Cognitive behavioral therapy and aromatherapy. Look out for more information about the medications and natural treatments to come. In the next coming articles I will be going over each treatment option.
