It seems like life has a way of throwing curveballs just when we least expect them, leaving us feeling overwhelmed and exhausted. If you're reading this, I want you to know that you're not alone. Loss has a way of making its presence felt at the most unexpected times. Losing who you are to fibromyalgia comes as a surprise. The nature of this loss, grief can overpower us, making it hard to see beyond the pain. It's okay to mourn who you were, to allow yourself the time and space to come to terms with being diagnosed with fibromyalgia and all of the other sickness/symptoms that result from it. I've found that talking about it, especially writing about it can be cathartic. Although I may not know you, it brings me relief to have an outlet to talk about it. You may find it helpful to reach out to friends, family, or support groups who can lend a listening ear or a comforting embrace.
We're in a world that often emphasizes success and outward appearances, it can be difficult to admit when we're struggling physically and mentally.
