As my life get more complex and the expectations I face become more challenging, it can be hard to keep up. I’m feeling overwhelmed, anxious, and depressed, I know it is a normal part of life. Yet, too often, I feel like I need to be perfect and pretending to have everything under control, even if I don’t.
The truth is, it’s okay to not be okay. It’s okay to feel sad, frustrated, or anxious. We are human, and we all have feelings and emotions that we cannot always control.
Admitting that you aren’t okay is difficult. But it’s an important part of self-care and self-discovery. Instead of hiding your emotions or pretending that everything is okay, you need to recognize your feelings and accept them, be patient with yourself, and remind yourself that everyone goes through difficult times and that it is okay to feel overwhelmed.
During times of struggle, I’ve discovered it is essential to surround ourselves with supportive people and seek help when you need it. There’s no shame in asking for help; on the contrary, it takes courage. Whether it’s talking to a trusted friend, reaching out to a counselor or therapist, joining a support group, or simply taking time for self-care, reaching out for help can change the path of your battle.
Additionally, we should avoid comparing our lives with other people's. It's easy to compare our low moments to other people's highlights, but social media and the organized world we live in can often give us the impression that everyone else has it all figured out, and are always happy, but the reality is that life is full of ups and downs, and it's okay to not know everything. I try to accept that my low moments are just a part of my journey, and understand that with time and effort, I will get through them.
In conclusion, it’s okay to not be okay. We need to accept our feelings and emotions and be open about them. By doing this, we can find the help and support we need to overcome difficult moments. Remember, asking for help takes courage, and everyone goes through challenging times, let's embrace them, mend our scars and grow.
